Data visualization is sadly underutilized in public ed, and using tools like Tableau can help administrators and specialists convey crucial information in a powerful, accessible way. Best of all, the process of visualization allows you to makes discoveries within your data.

Since Tableau Public can only be used with public data, a public Utah education dataset will be provided from the presenter's website. Tableau also offers a paid version to use with secure, non-public data. www.edubrooke.com/tableau

Brooke Anderson, a classroom teacher for thirteen years, is currently Masters student in Information Systems at the U with a special focus on applied Data Science. Her focus is on how student data is collected, stored, retrieved, and analyzed. She is currently working on improving student information systems by incorporating visualizations.
